Grassroots: How To
Grassroots is accessible and easy to use, but they also provide plenty of guides. Use the links below for step by step instructions on how to use the Grassroots Software.
A few significant changes moving from GLM to Grassroots Registry:
The first change members will notice is their ability to enter most of their information online, reducing the need to fill out and mail paperwork. This will speed up the registration process and increase accuracy. Should a member not have computer access, forms can be requested by emailing VBSSinfo@gmail.com. A $1 surcharge will be added to paper form submissions.
All animals should be submitted to the online registry before age two.
”No Valais Blacknose sheep born in the US older than 24 months of age and not entered into a Registry or database elsewhere may be registered/recorded with the VBSS. No animal shall be accepted for inclusion into the database after it is two years old unless, in the opinion of the Board of Directors, the case merits special consideration. Registration fees will be doubled on animals not submitted before they reach 18 months of age.”

About DNA:
ALL DNA submissions will now be centralized through the Society. Samples should be TSU samples and should be submitted to the following address:

PO BOX 494
Mead CO 80542
About Embryos:
All embryo documents remain on our website.
All embryo documentation must still be submitted via e-mail or the postal service. We strongly encourage embryo paperwork to be submitted at the time of implantation.
We are excited about this big move and have complete confidence that you will all appreciate and value the power and usefulness of this Registry.
We are always here to help.
